The environmental permit for project Kölvallen has gained legal force

The time period for seeking a leave to appeal has lapsed and thus the environmental permit for project Kölvallen has gained legal force.

The environmental permit encompasses 43 turbines with a tip height of 220 metres, which corresponds to almost 300 MW of capacity considering currently available technology. The line concession and grid connection capacity are already available.

Final project planning and procurement will now commence. This is expected to be completed towards the end of the year whereafter a sales process can be initiated. The goal is to finalise the sales process for the project in late Q2 2022.

The project has excellent wind resources and in addition the conditions for connecting to the grid are very favourable. All in all, this means that the expected profit potential is significantly higher than for previous Arise projects. It is also Arise largest project to date.

”It is very pleasing that the environmental permit for Kölvallen finally has gained legal force. It has been a long and challenging process. We now look forward to realise the project and continue to contribute to the ongoing transformation of Sweden’s power supply.”, says Per-Erik Eriksson, acting CEO Arise.
